What is a vaccine?
A vaccine is a "biological preparation" that stimulates the body's production of antibodies to provide immunity against disease. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), vaccines usually contain "an agent that resembles a disease-causing microorganism, and is often made from weakened or killed forms of the microbe, its toxins or one of its surface proteins."
